Terms of Service (Beta)

Last updated: January 2, 2026. By using APA Gen ("Service"), you agree to these terms.

1. Beta Access & Disclaimer

Detailed Accuracy Disclaimer

APA Gen uses a deterministic engine to format citations. While we strive for perfection, academic standards are complex. You are responsible for the final verification. We do not guarantee that the output is error-free or perfectly compliant with your specific institutional guidelines. APA Gen is not liable for academic penalties, rejected papers, or plagiarism accusations.

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind. As a Beta product, it may contain bugs or incomplete features.

2. Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

To ensure fair access to our free Beta resources, the following actions are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination:

  • Quota Abuse: Bypassing the limit of 30 analyses per month implemented for the free Beta tier.
  • Google API Compliance: Our use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
  • Multi-Account (Sybil Attacks): Creating multiple accounts to accumulate free quotas.
  • Automation: Using bots, scrapers, or scripts to interact with the Service.

3. Intellectual Property

  • Your Rights: You retain full intellectual property ownership of the bibliographical data you input and the citations you generate.
  • Our Rights: APA Gen retains exclusive ownership of the software, source code, parsing algorithms, and interface.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, APA Gen shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including data loss). Our total liability is capped at the amount paid by you in the last 12 months, or €1.00, whichever is greater.

5. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if we detect violations of the Acceptable Use Policy or abnormal resource consumption that threatens Service stability.
